As the candidates for the American presidency jockey for position, seek endorsements, and ask for money, varioua controversies and issues arise, often unexpectedly, to trip them up and make them scramble for an explanation. The Iowa Caucuses, for both the Democrats and the Republicans, forms the first step in the process of choosing the man or woman who will win the party nomination and stand for election in the November General Election.
